Advisory for consequential AI decisions

Senior decision support and hands-on implementation for AI strategy, governance, architecture and adoption.

WCAI's advisory proposition serves boards, executive teams, investors and public-sector leaders facing important decisions about AI. We combine senior judgement with hands-on work: defining the decision, designing an approach and supporting implementation with the teams responsible for the outcome.

A useful engagement begins with a concrete commitment. Should the institution fund a workflow, grant an agent another permission, select a supplier or expand to another entity? Identify the evidence that would change that decision before committing to a larger programme.

AI Strategy & Operating Model

Connect AI priorities to a business outcome and the way work is owned. Compare credible alternatives, identify the operating responsibilities and define staged funding decisions. The result should specify what the organisation will change and who will carry the obligation after the project ends.

AI Governance & Risk

Translate governance expectations into permissions, acceptance evidence, oversight and recovery decisions. Examine the actual workflow and its consequences with business, risk and technology colleagues. Guidance can inform this work; applicable legal and sector requirements need their own assessment.

AI Architecture & Infrastructure

Compare deployment choices against data, performance, resilience and control requirements. Map dependencies and test the cost of recovery or exit. The recommended architecture should fit the institution's workload and ability to operate it.

AI Adoption & Implementation

Turn a bounded use case into a service that staff can run. Work with internal teams and relevant specialists on integration, evaluation, process redesign and handover. Examine retained review effort, exceptions and support alongside technical performance.

Executive & Board Advisory

Prepare leaders for decisions about authority, exposure and capital allocation. Executive briefings and commissioned research should explain the evidence, alternatives and uncertainty attached to the decision. A fluent technology narrative is insufficient when it cannot show what the institution is authorising.

How an engagement progresses

Diagnose: establish the outcome, baseline, constraints and accountable people. Frame decisions: compare options and identify the evidence required for the next commitment. Design: define the process, controls, architecture and cost. Support execution: build or work alongside the delivery team, verify the operating boundary and transfer the service to its owners.

The scope can end after a specific decision or continue into implementation. Agree the deliverable, responsibilities and acceptance conditions before work begins. We do not present individual prior-employer experience as a WCAI client engagement.
