About World Council for AI
Research, frameworks and senior advisory on how institutions adopt, govern and operate AI, from Singapore with an ASEAN perspective.
World Council for AI studies how organisations turn AI into a capability they can operate, govern and fund. Established in Singapore in 2024, WCAI connects research and practical frameworks with senior advisory and hands-on implementation.
The questions cross disciplines. A promising workflow needs an operating owner. An agent needs bounded authority. A supplier decision can affect resilience and control. An investment case needs to account for the work people retain. Examining these decisions together is the purpose of our work.
Singapore is our base; our intended operating scope extends across ASEAN. Regional work needs local judgement about entities, data, language, staffing and requirements. Worldwide professional experience can inform that judgement without making different markets interchangeable.
What we examine
Our four focus areas are Institutional AI, AI Governance, Sovereign AI & Strategic Infrastructure, and AI & Financial Systems. They give the publication programme a common purpose: helping leaders make consequential decisions with evidence they can inspect.
The research library combines sourced analysis, proposed decision frameworks and practical resources. We distinguish those forms from field studies, surveys and benchmarks. An evaluation protocol describes how to conduct a test; it does not report a test that has already happened.
How we work
Research sets out an argument and its evidence. Advisory connects it to the institution's specific decision. Building tests what the approach requires in practice, alongside the teams who will operate it. Convening is part of the intended remit: useful exchange among leaders, practitioners and specialists. We list particular events or working groups only when they exist and their participation is agreed.
WCAI was founded by Randeep Melhi, whose professional background spans institutional finance, management consulting, emerging technology and operating leadership. Individual career experience is distinct from WCAI's own project record. Current affiliations and public contributor roles are credited with the person's agreement.
An accountable publishing practice
Our editorial principles explain sources, uncertainty, corrections and commercial interests. The publication date is the date a piece is actually released. A review of an earlier quarter remains a retrospective, with a separate coverage period.
